Candidate Responsibilities
As a Pre Development Specialist you give guidance to LED and Laser technologies in the field of applications and product roadmaps for our clients. You will work closely together with the System Architect(s) on the latest lighting product and application ideas when it comes to LEDs as well as semiconductor lasers technology.
Your responsibilities
• Translating the requirements and application demands into LED/Laser requirements in its environment based on basic knowledge of LED/Laser physics and specification sheets and roadmaps of LED and laser suppliers
• Working together with colleagues in other fields of expertise (like optics, electronics, and phosphors) to optimize the product architecture and push the system to a world-class module level;
• Maintain and update the knowledge in the competence team with respect to product innovation, new technological developments and product quality. Including LED/ laser light source benchmarking and technology & architecture scouting;
• Build and maintain a network within our client and with other R&D centers and universities, in order to participate in strategic platform discussions and to keep track of and steer new developments.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be of degree caliber or equivalent experience in lieu. Extensive relevant experience in the area of solid state/semiconductor light emitting devices (LEDs/Lasers). You are familiar with the physics of III-V semiconductors, both in terms of product (LED/laser) design and fabrication.
You are able to understand and deploy component roadmaps and lead those through the realization process for opportunities into future lighting (module or system) projects and products. Besides a technology focus you are also interested in marketing/business issues.
As a strong communicator you are able to influence and inform manufacturing engineers, projects sponsors, marketing and customers. You take ownership, are stress resistant, a good team player and work proactively towards a clear goal.
